Being ready in season and out of season

fig tree

Mark 11:12 – 14

12 The next day as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. 13 Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. 14 Then he said to the tree, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard him say it.

Mark 11:20 -21
20 In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. 21 Peter remembered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!”

In the passage we see that Jesus does not like a creation of the Father that is unproductive. we may justify that it was not the fruit bearing season of fig trees, however Jesus still expected the said tree to have at least one fruit. Unfortunately there was none and Jesus cursed the tree for it. This may be what really happened at that time, but if we come to take a closer look at the bible, we will see that there are 2 Types of fruits mentioned in the bible:

1. Fruit of the Holy Spirit
” Galatians 5:22-23New International Version (NIV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

fruits of the Holy Spirit

2. How much were we able to comply on what God has asked us to do.

“John 15:5 New International Version
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

I am the vine you are the branches copy

What if Jesus came to you one day and searched for a fruit, will He find at least one of the listed above? The fruits that He is looking for in us, will not be a product of our effort, instead our yielding to the Father. If we completely obey God then the Holy Spirit will empower us to be achievers and our accomplishments are for God’s glory.

As it is written, “It is not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit sayeth the Lord of Host” Zechariah 4:6 KJV

If we just yield to Him, then Jesus may say of us;
“Song of Solomon 2:3 (New International Version)
3 Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my lover among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste.”

Being in a tail-spin battle, remember: to be still and know that God is God

The battle is the of the Lord

2 Chronicles 20:11 to 15
11 Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of your possession, which you have given us to inherit.
12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.
13 And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.
14 Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation;
15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

This passage from the bible is one of God’s promises that most of us Christians hold on to. Especially if you have been fighting for what is due you in terms of compensation and employment. Fighting for truth to come out and justice not just for myself but for everyone. I cannot stand not doing anything about unfair practices, greed, and corruption. My spirit cannot conform nor allow me to be still. When trouble began because of this, there was peace that no one could fathom. I know that I have the Father who will back me up on this.

I have been holding on to the promise with faith unwavering. Praying fervently about it. Yet I feel that God’s response to my pleading is too far. Being a worshiper, gratitude and praise were ever present from my lips. However, God seemed so awfully quite. Now I am surrounded with uncertainty. Should I give up?

When it came to the point that I felt that many were interested to find out the outcome of my battle. Many will feel victorious, if I come out victorious. If I loose, it is just my lost. It was adding to my mental and emotional anguish. I was loosing my concept of God. My struggles were becoming bigger than my God. Until God sent a messenger. She shared about positivity and lead me back to my first love. Which was to be in the ministry of God. To work in His vineyard. She shared her insight on how to protect my earnings and put them into good use. eventually she started sharing with me her books on God’s plan of abundance, and that prosperity is for me as part of God’s great design.

One day, while reading a book by John Maxwell, reflecting every time I encounter some passages familiar to me and praying. . . . I heard that still voice reminding me, “are you not Jeremiah 29:11? You have been using this promise I gave you in everything that you do. (it is even my signature here in wordpress that I created since May of 2011 and just revisited lately) then the voice continued “I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future”

It may seem like a tail spin. Never ending battle, but one thing I came to realize, God was preparing me to be ready when He will grant me the justice that I have been long after for. You may want to know why, because together with justice, victory, prosperity is also in the list that God wants me to have. I am more equipped now to manage and steward His riches. I am more capable now to multiple whatever He may give me so when He comes back, I will show Him that the riches He entrusted to me to steward will be doubled. Just like the parable below:

Matthew 25:14-30English Standard Version (ESV)
The Parable of the Talents

14 “For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants[a] and entrusted to them his property. 15 To one he gave five talents,[b] to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. 16 He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. 17 So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. 18 But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money. 19 Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. 20 And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here I have made five talents more.’ 21 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.[c] You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ 22 And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents; here I have made two talents more.’ 23 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ 24 He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, 25 so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.’ 26 But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? 27 Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. 28 So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. 29 For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

After learning what I could on stewardship and that I am to make use of the riches our Father will bestow, in spreading of His gospel of love and redemption; I am ready now receive the victory. You may ask me, was it worth the fight? Yes it was, I did not just win a battle for me but also for my co-workers. Was it worth the wait? Most definitely yes, because I learned the art of trusting God fully amidst uncertainty and most importantly, I found what God wanted me to become.

Why God needed to rest on Sabbath

Genesis 2:3English Standard Version (ESV)
“3 So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.”

Does God ever get tired? Why was there a need for Him to rest? I believe I am not alone with the impression that our God the creator of the heavens and the earth is all powerful and will never get tired. So why did He rest?

How is the word sabbath defined: Definition: Sabbath (/ˈsæbəθ/) or a sabbath is generally a weekly day of rest or time of worship.

I have listed here what God has impressed on my heart when I was worshiping Him.

1. Before He rested on the seventh day He first saw everything He made and He was pleased. “31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day. -Genesis 1:31” – Whenever God is pleased He rests. Not because He got worn out, on the contrary He is expectant that after He did what He has done in our lives we will live our lives according to His plan.
In observing the SABBATH, let us not argue which day of the week it should be observed. any day that we assign as Holy and that we ask God to rest on this day. That is sabbath.

2. Is it possible to ask God to rest? Ain’t He suppose to be taking care of us? I know most of us feels that way. Again let me remind the first point, we will ask God to rest after He has completed His current project in us. As a mom, it is part of a daily routine to attend to kids’ bath time, go to school time and of course meal time. One day I was surprised when my youngest daughter who is 5 years old said “I will dress up by myself mom, you have been doing this for me for the longest time. I know how to do this. Just let me know how I look.” When I told her that she looked beautiful and what a big girl she has grown, she said “thanks mom, if it weren’t for your doting, I would not learn”. Sometimes in our relationship with God, we already have grown and yet we continue to ask and ask from Him. Yes it is written, “ask and you will receive”. How about us, when is it our turn to say Thank you Lord for all that You have done. I lack nothing, I am healthy, blessed with a wonderful family. When do we make God hear our praise and thanksgiving? Sabbath should be celebrated as a Holy day, a day when we ask God, please take a sit and listen to everything we would like to thank you for.

3. We were created because God wanted to have fellowship with his creation. a communion, being one with Him. In ruling over all of His creation, He gave that authority to man, because we were created according to His likeness and image. How do we communicate? It has to be 2 way, always. So if you were asked to get a glass of water for your kid, and when you hand her the glass, we expect a thank you, right? Mother’s language, it is teaching our children manners. However if this becomes a habit, then the child develops and forms values. They become grateful people. In His desire to redeem His creation after falling into sin, He gave us His only son to save us. Now that act of love is just by grace. God is sovereign, He is not affected by who is popular, text vote or who has followers. Everyone is called unto a fellowship with Him through Jesus. Even the criminal beside Jesus on the hill of Calvary.

Before I conclude let me share with you a story of 2 brothers. The younger brother was caught stealing and was in prison. At that time the punishment for stealing was to severe the hand that was caught stealing. The elder brother pleaded to lower down the sentence imposed, but to no avail. On the day that the younger brother’s hand was to be cut off, the young man tried to save his hand. He took grip of the ax that was to be used on him and hit the executioner with it and he died.

Instead of just loosing his hand the younger brother is now sentenced to death. The elder brother grieved for the younger sibling. On the night before the execution, the young lad while in prison was served the best food and he fell into deep sleep. when he woke up, his face was in a sackcloth. He could not see anything. He thought, this is it. I am to be beheaded. It took him more minutes before he realized that his hands are not tied. So when he removed the covering from his head, he saw that he was in the wilderness far from the city where his execution should take place. His heart started to pound. He rushed back to the city and went directly to the square where the beheading was taking place. when he arrived he saw that there was a man that they were going to execute, he could not make out of the face as the sackcloth was thick and dark. He saw the hands tied the pounding of his heart was stronger that it was deafening him. He started to yell stop, that man is innocent! he kept yelling but the crowds roaring was overwhelming no one heard him. By the time he got to the executioner the head was already severed, he removed the sackcloth, he saw his brother’s head. His brother took the punishment that was intended for him.

Tragedy, it is, however an act of love will always be an act of love. let us put ourselves in the place of the younger lad and Jesus as the elder brother. yes Jesus was slain for our sins. Knowing that, isn’t it time that we say thank you to Him for all that He has done?

Let us allot 2 hours and 40 minutes of each of our day just to praise and worship God through Jesus. Be in an attitude of not asking, instead of giving. As we worship let God establish His throne and ask Him to take His rightful place. To sit down on His throne just listening to our chants of thanks giving and worship.

Psalm 132:8 New International Version
“Arise, LORD, and come to your resting place, you and the ark of your might.”

When we are in an attitude of worship, we should be ministering to Him. Every minute of our lives, it has always been God embracing us whenever we need comfort. His promises are there to lift us up. His word is our guide whenever we are lost or still looking for the right path to tread on.

How about us? When are we going to embrace God with our arms of praise for everything that He has done and is still doing and bound to do for each and every one? When are we going to give our commitment to Him to always offer our thanksgiving and praise? When will God hear our words of praise and worship? When we do not feel like thanking Him because we are facing a huge problem, try offering your sacrifice of praise. When we thank God for all the wonderful things He has done, our faith begins to open our spiritual eyes to the bigness of our Creator and how small our troubles are. We again are reminded that we are just but human clothe with all the frailties that goes with it. Until then do we see how insignificant we are before God in comparison with all the significant things He has done for us to show us how much He loves us and longs to have fellowship with us. This will result in developing that desire for Him and we have our springboard to a higher level of praise.

When this happens, that is how we get to the highest praise and we begin to worship. We stand in complete amazement of this supreme being that God is and yet wants us to be with Him in His holy presence while He is sited on the throne. He will just listen to whatever we are thanking and praising Him for. Singing is one form, just expressing our gratitude is also a way of bringing in our thanksgiving and praise to Him.

As worshipers, we will be The Almighty’s minstrels. Imagine the creator of the heavens of the earth. The Almighty One. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The higher power. The One sited on the throne in complete control of the entire universe is resting. For a few minutes in our lives we give Him that portion of time when we are not asking anything from Him, but instead we are giving back to Him. When our praise and worship is as a sweet smelling savor to the Divine nostrils, what do you expect?

Will God open windows for us to peek what He has in store for us? Or maybe a door that we may come in and dine with Him? I believe that God does the mentioned; however this happens when we ask in prayer and supplication, but not during worship. Because when we give back to Him, He will open the flood gates of heaven and pour out His blessing that our cup runs over and our storehouse will be filled with blessings that are pressed down shaken together running over that the is no room enough to receive. Not because He is bound to but because we were able to minister to Him.

“8 Arise, O LORD, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength. 9 Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness, And let Your godly ones sing for joy.… Psalm 132:8 to 9”

Let us all then be ministrels of God!
Glory to God.

When God gives His gifts. . . .

When God gives His gifts it is for sure commendable, there is excellence, it is anything worthy of praise.

Why did God bestow His gifts? It is for a purpose. He also believes in having a purpose driven relationship with us His children. Whatever the reason why the Almighty Father let us just leave that to Him. Anyhow we all know that He definitely knows what is best for everyone.

How does God elect whom to give His gifts? By grace and only grace. It is the fact that despite there is nothing that we have that God may use as a leverage, He had decided to award the gift anyhow. Just only because He is gracious. So let no one boast about their skills, on the contrary, let them that boast, boast in the Lord.

If you were God, will you give an excellent gift to someone that may or may not understand your reason for doing so? . . . I thought so too. This is what makes our God amazing, awesome and almighty. He does things that He alone can do.

If I were to ask you, what are the gifts that God granted you? Do you feel that you deserve them? If I am to list down my gifts, may take one whole week to complete. On top of that very long list of God-given-gifts that I posses, communication skills is on top. Whenever I speak in front of a huge crowd of dental professionals, or just with a small cell group. I know that I am set apart from the ordinary. To speak is one thing, to impart is another. Both are art and skill that one cannot acquire overnight. No training will make us an excellent public speaker.

You may have read a thousand and one self-help books, blogs and articles. There are selected few that you were able to relate and get inspired. The writer of your preference is also gifted. I can make my list of inspirational writers of our time, again it may take the whole month to finish. But the greatest author I admire and look up to is the Almighty Maker of the Heavens and the earth. He authored my life so I can continue to write everything that He has done and is still doing and will do for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

I have decided to continue to speak and write about God’s greatness until I find out His ultimate purpose why I am a recipient of His excellent gifts.

I hope you enjoyed reading as much as I enjoyed writing. Until the next article.

For by grace we are saved. . . .

In Western Christian theology, grace has been defined, not as a created substance of any kind, but as “the love and mercy given to us by God because God desires us to have it, not because of anything we have done to earn it”,[1] “the condescension or benevolence shown by God toward the human race”.[2] It is understood by Christians to be a spontaneous gift from God to man – “generous, free and totally unexpected and undeserved”[3] – that takes the form of divine favor, love, clemency, and a share in the divine life of God. This is taken from Wikipedia.

Another way of defining the word is grace is by getting its origin. “Grace” derives from the Greek, charis. In secular Greek, charis was related to chairo, “to rejoice.” As far back as Homer it denoted “sweetness” or “attractiveness.” It came to signify “favor,” “goodwill,” and “lovingkindness” — especially as granted by a superior to an inferior.

Having defined what is grace is and that it is why we can now call God Abba Father, I am so yearning to give back to Him all of me.

Writing this is one way that I know, that the real essence of the cross be understood. Many life coaches and meditation programs are helping people to recover from pain. At times to feel good about themselves and how to be rich. They also quote Biblical verses to prove their point. I have nothing against these movement which is on the web. I am just hoping that the full gospel of where our salvation comes from be given the highlight it needs.

All strength we need to overcome our pain and struggles, all abundance, all promises that we hold on to that are found in the Bible are all because God is a gracious God. all the inner strength that we are coached that we have are all God bestowed. Every good things that happen to us after we dream is God’s manifestation of His great love towards us.

We need to say positive affirmations, I will then say: “Let the weak say I am strong”, “Let the poor say I am rich” Because what the Lord has done for us. GIVE THANKS

The concept of grace is definite is a springboard to praise. I can’t help but sing hymn of love and of worship. I know that I am just but a filthy rug before God. Yet He paid particular attention to my needs and my concerns. Now I know why it is called AMAZING GRACE.

If this is how grace is defined then Paul was right when he challenged the early believers “let them that boast, boast in the Lord”. Because everything that we have are all from God. If we use our gifts, talents, resources and finances to honor Him, it is our act of worship. Like mentioned on the page on WORSHIP. It is when we ask God to rest and receive our praise and worship. Let us put Christ back in our everyday positivity exercises. In our abundance coaching also let us not forget that God is the creator and the owner of the heavens and the earth He is very rich. It is His divine plan for all of us to prosper us. He wants all of us to receive healing. If this is not true then why did Jesus bore wounds and stripes that will bring forth healing.

God is His amazing grace wanted the best for all of us. Let us not forget HIM. For in Him we live, we move and have our being.
